All about ballroom Latin dance classes
Ballroom Latin dance program
All classes will emphasize basic Latin dance steps, technique, choreography, and partnering.
Ballroom Latin dance syllabus: we offer classes in the International style of Rumba, Cha cha, Samba, and Jive. Over the course of the school year, students will learn and build a repertoire of steps of each dance, which will be used to compose choreographies.
We have created choreographies for teams, solos, and for partners. However, to make any choreography look stylish, one must focus on learning the proper techniques. For Beginners, techniques will be gradually introduced in later classes. For Advanced, techniques are reinforced every class. If steps are the backbones of a dance, technique is the spirit, and style is the flourish.
Partnering: students are certainly more than welcome to bring their own dance partner! But do not worry if you do not have a one, because part of joining a dance class is to make new friends! You will find a practice partner during class as many of our students come as singles.
